As for attitude (and pretty much everything else you say) we agree. I write a lot about attitude with respect to interacting with a place. Even within a neighborhood in your hometown or in the city where you have lived "forever."
We just disagree on the use of the word "live" and the larger repercussions. You also have a different perspective as a person who travels (or traveled) from place to place. Totally fine, but, as I said, there's no substitute for time. I think that's the key ingredient that cannot be hacked. But our society has come to believe that it can be and that's a problem with respect to creating perceptions that can become reality in areas even beyond what we're discussing.
